About Hire Unicorn Developers

A hiring platform built around roles that generic marketplaces cannot assess.

Hire Unicorn Developers is a curated engineering hiring platform operated by FISTA Solutions and founded by Muhammad Usman Akbar. It specialises in AI-native roles and circular economy engineering, publishes its vetting process openly, and shows the scoring behind every candidate shortlist.

Why this platform exists

The hiring market has a specific blind spot. Marketplaces screen for general software engineering competence, which works well for general software engineering. It does not identify someone who has run agent systems in production, because production agent engineering is about tool design, evaluation discipline and cost control — none of which a generalist screen tests.

The same gap exists, more severely, in circular economy engineering. Almost no hiring platform has any way to establish whether an engineer understands what EU Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 actually requires, because almost nobody at those platforms has implemented it.

What we do differently

  • We publish the vetting process. Every stage, every criterion, and what we reject for, on the vetting page. Judge the standard yourself instead of trusting a percentage.
  • We show the matching logic. Shortlists come with a score breakdown across skill overlap, role fit, seniority, rate and time-zone overlap.
  • We do the work ourselves. FISTA Solutions delivers engineering in the same five practice areas we hire for, which is what makes the assessment credible.
  • We say when a competitor is better. Every comparison page includes a section on where the other platform wins.

Frequently asked questions

Who operates Hire Unicorn Developers?

FISTA Solutions operates the platform. It was founded by Muhammad Usman Akbar, who also writes the technical content and sets the assessment standards used in vetting.

Why focus on AI-native and circular economy roles?

Because both are newly defined disciplines where generic hiring fails. There is no settled assessment standard for an AI agent engineer or a Digital Product Passport engineer, so marketplaces that screen for general software skill cannot reliably identify them.

Do you publish placement statistics?

No, and we will not until they are real and verifiable. The statistics shown on this site describe the platform itself — roles defined, vetting stages published, articles written. Inventing placement numbers would undermine the only thing we are actually selling.

How do you make money?

A platform fee on placed engagements, disclosed before you commit. There is no charge for sending a brief or receiving a shortlist, and engineers are not charged to be listed.
